Terms of sale
Last updated: draft, not yet in force.
Who we are
Moonbench is a small 3D-print workshop in New Zealand. These terms apply when you buy from this website. They're written in plain language; if anything is unclear, ask us before you order.
Your rights under New Zealand law
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Everything we sell, including personalised items, must be of acceptable quality, fit for the purpose it's sold for, and match its description and any preview we approved with you. If it isn't, we'll fix it, remake it or refund you, as the law requires.
Made to order and personalised items
- Named pegs and custom pieces are made just for you, so we can't take them back if you simply change your mind.
- Please check spelling before you pay. We print names exactly as entered (after tidying extra spaces). If we spot something that looks like a typo we'll ask, but we can't promise to catch everything.
- The on-screen preview is a guide to layout and colour. Real colours vary a little between screens and batches, and printed lettering has the small texture of the printing process.
- We may decline an order, for example if a name is offensive, uses someone else's trademark, or is something on our won't-make list. If we decline after you've paid, we refund you in full.
Prices and payment
- Prices are in New Zealand dollars. Shipping is shown before you pay.
- Payment is taken by Stripe at checkout. We never see or store your card details.
- For custom requests we send a quote first. You only pay once you've accepted it.
Making and delivery times
We'll give you an estimate when you order and keep the order status page up to date. If we're going to miss a date we promised, we'll tell you and you can choose to wait or cancel for a full refund. See shipping for delivery details.
Cancelling
You can cancel for a full refund until we start making your order. Once printing has started, we can't usually cancel, but ask and we'll do what we can.
If something's wrong
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, contact us within a reasonable time with your order reference and a photo. We'll put it right: repair, remake or refund. We won't ask you to pay to return a faulty item.
Using what we make
We only describe our products in ways we've checked. Unless we say so in the product description, our pieces aren't toys, aren't food safe, and aren't meant for load-bearing or safety-critical use.
How we work
We use AI tools to help run the shop, and a person checks every order before it's made and before it's posted. See the note on our home page.
Contact
Our contact email will be listed here before launch. Until then, use the request form and say what it is about.
